Pet-Friendly Jupiter FL Pest Control | Paramount Pest Doctors

Keep your beloved pets safe from hitchhiking pests.

We love our dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, and birds so much that we take them with us outdoors to share our adventures and have some fun. They love us back for letting them socialize and enjoy new environments. But what they (and you) may not know is that their visit to malls, restaurants, parks, or even the beach puts them at risk of playing host to parasites and turning into four- or two-legged vehicles for hitchhiking pests, such as ticks, fleas, and mites.

Exterminate pests using human- and pet-friendly methods.

Just because your furry and feathered family members can be carriers of tiny, annoying, and potentially life-threatening bugs, it does not mean that you will stop taking them outside for fresh air and sunshine. This is the splendid Sunshine State, after all, and depriving your pets of outdoor activity is neither healthy nor wise.

What you need to do instead is protect your home from becoming a breeding ground for hitchhiking pests. You can prevent a possible infestation by those uninvited guests, and this is by having an effective pest control plan that is professionally executed and safe for both humans and pets.

Pest control plans can also include exterminating mosquitoes from your property interiors and exterior.

Protect Your Pets and Home from These Pests and External Parasites:

  • Ticks: These small arachnids feed mainly on the blood of mammals and birds, and they can survive in human dwellings. Ticks can transmit diseases, such as Rocky Mountain spotted fever and Lyme disease, to birds, dogs, cats, and humans.
  • Fleas: These little flightless insects feed on the blood of warm-blooded vertebrates, including humans, dogs, cats, rabbits, rodents, and birds. Flea bites can result in mild to severe discomfort for the hosts, and these can bring certain viral and bacterial diseases. The oriental rat flea, for example, carries the bacterium that causes bubonic plague. Bubonic plague is associated with the Black Death, the outbreak during the Late Middle Ages that is the deadliest pandemic in recorded history.
  • Mites: These are minute arthropods consume blood, dead skin, and/or hair of their hosts. Mites can cause skin disorders in humans and domestic animals.
  • Mosquitoes: These insects are the winged bloodsuckers that belong in the same order (Diptera) as house flies. There are more than a hundred known mosquito genera, although not all transmit diseases when they bite. The dangerous ones include the Aedes genus and the Anopheles genus, which can pass heartworm to dogs and make them gravely ill. Too, some Aedes species transmit viruses that cause serious diseases like Zika, chikungunya, dengue, and yellow fever in humans. Some Anopheles species, meanwhile, carry parasites that cause malaria.
